Basic Overview of Role and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the below function.

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of project cargo shipments, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Quoting: Oversee the quoting and planning of potential project cargo shipments, ensuring they are completed on time and with an accurate budget.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the project cargo team on each shipment, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure efficient operations.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects, understanding their specific needs and ensuring their requirements are met.
  • Agent Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with agents to support our needs and to create business opportunities to support their needs.
  • Risk Management: Assess risks associated with project cargo shipments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and security of cargo.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project cargo shipments comply with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for project cargo operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Vendor Relations: Negotiate and collaborate with vendors, carriers, and other partners to ensure smooth and efficient project cargo operations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project cargo operations to senior management, highlighting any challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project cargo operations.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the transportation of project cargo, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Sales Support: Support the sales team in its pursuit of new clients and current client projects.

General Responsibilities

  • Be actively engaged with the larger industry.
  • Generate and implement ideas to improve the marketability of the Project Cargo division.
  • Attend prospect or client meetings as required.
  • Collaborate directly with sales team to help secure, retain, and grow accounts.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments that will be applicable to your division.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Experience of an Ideal Candidate:

In addition to the above, all candidates must meet the below minimum requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant direct professional experience with moving Project Cargo

It is preferred, but not required, that candidates have the following:

  • At least 5 years of relevant direct professional experience with moving Project Cargo
  • Related professional experience working with CargoWise system
